This piano lesson follows on from your first lesson where you learned the notes and finger numbers.
Now it’s time to put that into practice and learn some chords.
Once you know a few chords you will be able to play a lot of songs.
The chords you will learn to play are C major, F major, and G major.
A great many songs are played using these three chords. Many of them are played in a sequence called 12 bar blues.
12 bar blues form the basis of thousands of songs from the early rock and roll songs to the present day.
Learn these chords and practice them until they are second nature to you.
Search around the internet for chords and words for songs you like. You will find quite a lot just use three chords. Most of the sites will be for guitar music. The chords are the same as piano chords.
Just with the three chords in this lesson, there are lots of songs that use them. If the chords you find are different, most sides allow you to transpose them. Transpose them to ‘C’ and you are good to go.
Don’t forget to come back for the other lessons where you will be taught other chords to improve the music you can play.
This series of lessons are being released day by day. If the links do not work, they will in a day or so after their release date.
